NEW SCOUT OVERNIGHT – There will be an overnight camp out at the church on May 8th and 9th for any scout who has not yet completed first class. The emphasis of the overnight will be rank requirements, first aid and CPR. Please let Ms. Ramsay know if you will be attending by May 4th. There is a $15 charge for food and other expenses for the weekend and that is also due May 4th. We will start at 6 PM on the 8th and finish by 5 PM on the 9th. Any scout needing CPR is welcome to come on Saturday from 1 – 3 but must let Ms. Ramsay know in advance. NO DROP-INS WILL BE ALLOWED!

Any adult or older scout willing to help with this weekend is welcome to join us as well and will be greatly appreciated. Just let Ms. Ramsay know.

1.We welcomed the Webelos Den from Pack 40, Harpeth Elementary School, who visited the Troop meeting with six Webelos.

2. The Troop’s Order of the Arrow Election last week was very successful. The candidates for induction to the Order will be announced at the Spring Camporee Saturday night campfire. All candidates will be notified after the Campfire if they are not there.

3. A New scout parent Orientation will be held next Monday night during the Troop Meeting. All new parents are encouraged to attend to find out more about the operation of the Troop and how to help their sons get the most out of the Troop Program.

4. Our Summer Uniform Inspection will begin in two weeks on April 20th and will continue for three Troop Meetings after that date. Please use this time to get your Summer Uniform up to date with correct patches and score a 100% on your inspection!!! All Scouts scoring a 100% as judged by the Scoutmaster will receive a waterproof Match case. Dr. Petcu has the new Uniform Inspection sheets to hand out.

5 The first Philmont 2009 training hike will be this weekend at Stone Door. All participants in the 2009 Philmont Trek should plan on going.

6. All Scouts working on the Architecture Merit Badge should make plans to visit Mr. Kem Hinton’s office this Saturday at 10 am to complete the Merit Badge. His office is at the corner of Elm and Fifth Avenue South, it is the rust colored brick church building, directly across from Hermitage Lighting Gallery.

7. All Scouts are STRONGLY encouraged to attend Summer Camp. It is a Troop policy that attendance at Summer Camp is required for participation in the Summer Trips. Any Scout who does not follow this policy will need to appeal to the SM and Troop Committee to attend the Summer Trip.

8. Our Summer Camp Packets are available NOW from Mr. Matthews. Scouts should begin planning for their week at camp. Adults should step up to spend all or part of the week at camp so our Scouts have enough adult presence to be at camp.

9. Zachary Coode and Michael Petcu are in a youth Theater Group, called the Real Life Players and they have an upcoming production.

Only a few slots left for the Tour of Texas. Come Visit the Clinton Library and Museum, The National Scout Museum, Spend the Night at SeaWorld, and sleep 2 nights onboard the USS Lexington along with many other fun activities including working on a couple of Merit Badges along the way. This is a Great course for the Young Men of our Troop. Our very own Micheal Petcu will serve as SPL along with Venture Crew Advisor Larry Meyers serving as Course Scoutmaster and several others from the the Troop. Sign up before it is too late, only 48 participants allowed.
